A Message From Pastor Wilbert Early Jr.
Pastor E.jpg

The Men and Women who serve and lead at Grafton Baptist Church-Harris Grove are passionate about fulfilling the Great Commission.  We recognize not only our responsibility and obligation but also our privilege to share Christ with a lost world.  None of us is comfortable knowing men, women, boys and girls in our communities are lost without Christ.  The burden motivates us to face some new realities:

Getting people to attend church services is more difficult than ever.

What once motivated people to go to church no longer works.

Merely "having church" is no longer an effective method to reach our communities for Christ.

We must never compromise our message, but we should consider adjusting our methods of ministry.

As always, when we encounter a dilemma , the Word of God offers us solutions.  Core biblical truths about ministry  remain relevant and effective.  Luke 19:10 tells us, " For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost," and Paul wrote to Timothy, Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15).

Not many unsaved people want to come to church.  We need to reach out to them.  I believe  it's time for us to share the blessings of God, poured out in our church services with the community.

Let's stay mindful each day as we intentionally  move forward:

My community is my mission field.

True "church" begins after church ends.

What happens inside the church can't stay inside the church building.

Every Christian is called to be a missionary.

Church service isn't just a place to receive blessings; it's a place to be equipped, empowered, and entrusted with ministry beyond the four walls.

I am calling on every Director, Chairperson, Leader, Minister, and church member of Grafton Baptist Church-Harris Grove to embrace a passion for sharing Jesus with the unsaved and unchurched.

"The Church That's Moving Forward" isn't just a catchphrase; it's God's command for his church.  If we are not moving forward, we are disobedient to the Lord and His Word.  I am confident of a few things:  God will bless the church that is actively advancing.  If we focus on reaching the unsaved instead of solely growing the church, God will increase our congregation .  Let's be intentional and strategic:  let's plan our efforts to reach the unsaved and unchurched.

Let's be "The Church that's Moving Forward."
